Looking for exceptional bespoke packaging?

Custom packaging may be affordable, but it isn't cheap.  A box should delight the customer so it elevates the perceived value of it's contents and the brand, thus increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Designing packaging can be a daunting process, but it doesn't have to be.  Depending on what you're selling and where you're selling it, your packaging needs will differ.  The key is to find the right balance for your business and brand identity.

So where do you begin?

What are your main priorities?

Custom branded packaging is a method of transporting products, building a brand, and delivering on a marketing strategy, all combined.

When designing your customer packaging, practical considerations, such as how protective your packaging is, what shipping requirements, how can I enhance the appearance, are all considerations

You can't start planning your design until you know what you're using your packaging for.  Your product will dictate what packaging elements are the most suitable for your needs.

Custom packaging is a visual pitch to your customer to help foster brand recognition.  For this reason, many brands make their logo the centrepiece of their packaging design.  Your design should aim to engage and delight your customer.

Aim for Simplicity

When competing with other brands a simpler design can actually enable you to be more noticeable.  Create a packaging design that's on-brand and keep the design minimal by using a single colour to avoid too much visual noise.

Variations on your brand elements and theme will keep your design fresh and unique.  In your branding strategy, it's easy to use the same design over and over again for the sake of consistency.  But changing this on a regular basis ensures your brand stays dynamic as it grows and evolves.

Tell a story

In the age of social media, packaging isn't just packaging; it's a storytelling device for your brand with an audience of thousands.

When you can't interact with customers in person, the challenge is to get the essence of your brand across to your consumer.

Printing can also be used to add branding, handling instructions and warnings (i.e. Fragile), as well as provide the wow factor for any e-commerce packaging or mail order fulfilment

Keep it green

Since the airing of the BBC Blue Planet series, consumer awareness of packaging sustainability has increased. The sustainability of your design is just as important as the product packaging design so remember to ensure your packaging materials can be responsibly disposed.  As we move into the future, look to produce packaging that is Eco-friendly and less harmful to the environment.

How has Covid impacted the world of packaging?

With more goods sold online, and people unable to shop in-store, custom packaging has become more important than before. If you can't attract your consumers in the store, you need to do it at home.
